In honor of Black History Month, the Walking In Authority Teen Council(WIATC) Mental Health Committee encourages all eligible donors, especially Black Americans, to donate blood.
Of those who suffer from Sickle cell disease, roughly 90% are Black Americans, which is why we want to alleviate the mental and physical stress of suffering from this disease, and any other ailment that requires blood, by encouraging you to pledge and help your community.
Not only will it help the person who receives your blood become one step closer to recovery, but it can help you as well. Donating blood is known to reduce stress, improve emotional well-being, reduce feelings of isolation, create an increased sense of community, and more!
Give the gift of life through blood and remember to embrace your mind and be kind!
