In August 2024, Dr. Loris Yadegarian began his battle with cancer. Since then, he has been in the hospital more than 100 days! During that time, he has received 9 blood transfusions at one pint each. There are about 10 pints of blood in the human body so it’s truly incredible to consider that he has received the equivalent of one person. His ability to receive this life saving gift would not have been possible without blood donations.
Loris has donated blood to the Red Cross regularly for the past several years and his donations have helped countless strangers. His past donations, his current need and his caring nature have inspired me to start this campaign to get friends and family to donate blood that can help others as he has helped his patients through his work and others through his past blood donations.
Friends and patients have asked how they can help – I’d like to ask you to make a blood donation in the spirit of his giving nature.
Donating blood takes about 15-20 minutes and is so easy. You can make an appointment at your local Red Cross (Loris would donate regularly at the Red Cross in Burbank and you can do it anywhere). Who knows, maybe you’ll make a regular habit out of it for 2025!
Let’s help others the way they helped Loris and will continue to help him. Loris has made an impact on so many lives – let’s perpetuate his momentum by helping others with a blood donation.
THANK YOU and please donate!
Surrounded by love and loved ones, Loris lost his battle with cancer February 28th at 632PM. Since his first hospitalization on 8/9/24, he was in the hospital more than 130 days and received a total of 13 blood transfusions – the most recent just days before he passed.
When I started this drive while he was with us, he would be overwhelmed with appreciation and truly touched when someone would make a commitment to donate in his name. I showed him every single donation pledge and message which he loved – and he would constantly ask if there were any new donations.
Since I can no longer fight for Loris, I want his memory and fighting spirit to help those in the greatest need by asking you to please make a pledge to donate one pint of blood in his name. This meant so much to him. Please send this link everyone you can and ask them to pledge through this link so that we can see the impact. Thank you.
