University of Minnesota Duluth Greek Life

At the the University of Minnesota Duluth, four sororities and five fraternities make up our Greek Life community. Each one has a unique set of values that is used to shape its members into leaders in our community and as representatives of their organization. In the past, each organization has had their own cause their members worked for, but this year, we are coming together, working as one.

Greek Life has been given the opportunity to partner up with the Red Cross through Grandma’s Marathon Leadership Program. Grandma’s Marathon is the story of a community coming together. For nearly 40 years, people have volunteered their time, energy and heart to help others. This leadership program honors the history of giving, and creates meaningful leadership opportunities in our surrounding community. This is the first year of the program, and Greek Life is very excited to help get it going! Every day, Greek Life tries to better the community around us, and a partnership with the Red Cross through the Grandma’s Marathon Leadership Program has given us an opportunity to do so. For our first efforts, in preparation for Grandma’s Marathon this June, we hosted a blood drive for the Duluth community! However, we wanted to go bigger and our SleevesUp campaign was born. With your help, we can make the University of Minnesota Duluth Greek Life’s first drive with the Red Cross a success!

We work together every day to do important work. But today, we want to accomplish something even more meaningful. The Red Cross has to collect 15,000 blood donations every day to have enough blood to help patients in 2,700 hospitals and transfusion centers across the country. That’s a lot of patients in need and all of us, coming together, can help ensure patients receive life saving blood.

So SleevesUp and help us reach our goal. Make and keep an appointment to give blood to the American Red Cross.
