One blood donation can help save up to three lives. That means a lot to patients in need, but it took on a new meaning recently for this family.
Without volunteer blood donors, this story might have had a different ending. Help this family reach their goal and ensure that patients receive the life saving blood they need. Make and keep an appointment to give blood to the American Red Cross.
This beautiful little girl Violet, was diagnosed with Standard risk Pre B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on November 6th, 2015, the day she turned two and a half.
After an extremely difficult month long stay in the hospital for induction therapy, separated from her 2 older and 2 younger siblings, her parents were devastated to learn she still had .02% leukemia cells in her bone marrow, at this time they changed her from standard(low) risk to high risk.
Violet did go into remission after the next phase of treatment: Intensification, and everyone is hoping and praying it never comes back. As it stands, she will start the maintenance phase of treatment around July, 2016 and then have about 2 more years of chemotherapy.
Violet has received so many blood and platelet transfusions that her mom has lost count. If you are able to do so, please donate. Little lives like Violet’s are saved everyday because of superhero’s just like you!
