DID YOU KNOW: Every day the American Red Cross must hold 500 blood drives in order to meet the needs of patients at over 2,500 hospitals and cancer treatment centers across the country. Every 2 seconds someone in the U.S needs a blood transfusion! Behind that number are real people in need of lifesaving care, and countless more who love and depend on them.

The ONYX BRG invites you to join us as we collaborate with the American Red Cross to promote blood donations in support of the communities where we live and work and specifically in support of people living with sickle cell disease. In the United States sickle cell disease most frequently affects people of African descent and the primary treatment for this condition is blood transfusion.  The most ideal blood matches for patients with sickle cell disease who are African American come from blood donors of the same race or ethnicity which is why it is so vital that African Americans donate blood. The blood supply must mirror the communities it serves and ONYX is stepping up to help!

We have created a company-wide virtual blood drive and our mission goal is to get at least 250 people to pledge to donate blood as part of this initiative, but I know we can exceed this target! You will be taken to a list of blood drives in your area so you can make an appointment to give the gift of life at a time and place that is convenient to you.
