Each year, between 140 and 160 officers are killed in the line of duty. C.O.P.S. provides resources to help the officer’s family and co-workers are left to cope with the loss – rebuild their lives. This year, we are joining forces with the American Red Cross to help those in need. Together, we will increase awareness of the importance of blood collections and to help encourage members and the community to donate blood.
The Red Cross has to collect 15,000 blood donations every day to have enough blood to help patients in 2,700 hospitals and transfusion centers across the country. That’s a lot of patients in need and all of us, coming together, can help ensure patients receive life saving blood.
