Dear blood donor friends,
My name is Calaya Hosfelt, and I am Causey Middle School’s Red Ribbon Nominee. For my project, I will be hosting a virtual blood drive to help those in need. For those who don’t know the importance of giving blood, here are a few statistical reasons.
1. Every 2 seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood and/or platelets.
2. Approximately 29,000 units of red blood cells are needed every day in the U.S.
3. Blood and platelets cannot be manufactured; they can only come from blood donors.
4. One donation can potentially save up to three lives.
In conclusion, my goal is to reach 100 donors in the next few months, and I would be more than grateful if you would help me reach this goal!
Challenge your friends (or anyone for that matter) to a friendly competition! Who will win the battle to do the most social good for your community?
Put your virtual blood drive campaign against one or even multiple other campaigns to see who can recruit more blood donors for the American Red Cross.
