Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood. The need for blood is constant, but only 3 percent of the U.S. population donates. By rolling up a sleeve, donors can play a critical role in the treatment of accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, and those receiving treatment for leukemia, cancer or sickle cell disease. African American blood donors have a unique ability to help patients with sickle cell disease and support the health of our community.
The Red Cross critically needs Black & African American donors, as well as all those who have not given before, to give blood. Pull up your sleeve and make a pledge to donate blood. When you give blood, you give life. Remember, you are someone’s type!
