Get ready to roll up your sleeves and sharpen your fangs for DFS’ Halloween Blood Drive kicking off on October 1st, in support of the American Red Cross.

There is no substitute for blood. It is essential for surgeries, cancer treatment, chronic illnesses, and traumatic injuries. Whether a patient receives whole blood, red cells, platelets or plasma, this lifesaving care starts with one person (like you) making a generous donation. Here are some reasons why your gift of blood is so important:

• Every two seconds, someone in the Unites States needs blood

• Less than 38% of the population is eligible to give blood

• One donation can potentially save up to three lives

You can pledge your support today by making and keeping an appointment to give blood to the American Red Cross. Our campaign will run from October 1st to December 31st. We have set a lofty goal of 100 donations! Let’s all pull together and ensure patients get the lifesaving blood they need!

Don’t forget to log your community service hours spent donating your gift of blood and be sure to take a photo of yourself (in your Halloween costume) donating and share it. Just use #sleevesupfangsoutdfs
