In honor of Red Cross Month, Cisco’s US Public Sector is kicking off March by hosting a virtual blood drive through the American Red Cross.
Did you know that every two seconds someone in the United States needs blood for lifesaving care? This means more than 38,000 blood donations are needed per day and just 1 pint of blood donated can save up to 3 lives!
Please join Cisco’s US Public Sector in pledging to donate blood and/or monetary contribution this month (see blood donor eligibility & FAQ in the below link). Our goal is to donate 50 pints which can save up to 150 lives.
Roll your Sleeves Up with USPS (how-to participate):
1. Make & keep an appointment through the Red Cross http://sleevesup.redcrossblood.org/campaign/roll-your-sleeves-up-to-save-lives-2/ by selecting the Pledge Button on the right, enter your zip code to find blood donation opportunities near you.
2. Track your participation in BrightFunds: https://cisco.brightfunds.org/volunteering/scheduled_events/4076
3. (Optional) Share your story: Why is donating blood important to you? Please submit your response (photos welcome) to Susan Pak, [email protected] who is coordinating this initiative and will include your message in our, “Thank You to Our Donors” mailer circulated to our USPS community. Submission deadline: April 29, 2022.
