RFA Honors Marty Mitchell

78 /50

RFA is grateful and honored to have had Marty Mitchell serve as our Technical Director for 40 years. Marty was a huge champion of food safety and regulatory compliance, educating and updating our member companies so that they could continue to provide quality, safe food for our communities.

For the past several years, Marty struggled with his diagnosis of leukemia. He heavily relied on blood transfusions to treat his condition. Those transfusions increased in frequency, to the point that he was going to the hospital multiple times each week.

As a way to honor Marty and help others who are facing cancers and other medical problems, we encourage you to donate blood in your local area. Our collective donation goal is 50 units of blood by the end of March, 2022. Blood supplies are very limited right now, and your donation is needed to help cancer patients like Marty, trauma victims, people with anemia and chronic diseases. Red blood cells must be used within 42 days; platelets, just 5 days.

Thank you in advance for joining our SleevesUp Campaign and helping others like Marty combat their illnesses.
