The day I was born my mom nearly died from blood loss. Thankfully there was blood available for the multiple transfusions needed to save her life.
I was giving blood last week and decided that this year I would have a virtual blood drive and request pints of blood instead of presents – in honor of that day and the people who donated blood 41 years ago and saved my mom.
