Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. has a rich history in blood donation through the work of our esteemed Brother Dr. Charles R. Drew, who develop the concept of blood banking in support of the British and American militaries’ entry into World War II. The Red Cross enlisted him to start a pilot program that included innovations such as community donation centers in storefronts, factories and “bloodmobiles”. Omega Psi Phi Fraternity celebrates this legacy by supporting blood donations through its Health Initiatives mandated program.
In support of this program, Pi Lambda Lambda Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. annually seeks to raise blood donations. In our first virtual drive, we are looking for 50 donors across the country willing to support our effort! Encourage your friends, family, co-workers, church members and others to register to give blood through our drive. Register for a local Red Cross blood drive in your area between July 1 and October 31 and donate through our drive.
Help us to support the Red Cross and Omega’s legacy. No matter where you are, you can be part of this effort. Though COVID has taken center stage nationally, the need for blood donations has never wained.
