Human blood is an essential element of human life with no substitute. Voluntary blood donors are the cornerstone of a safe and adequate supply of blood and blood products. One blood donation can save up to three lives (American Red Cross). It is important for all that are eligible to donate blood because there will not be adequate supplies when emergencies arise. Virtual blood drives are a good way to increase blood donation because people can pledge to donate blood and go donate when they have the time to. Collaborating with the American Red Cross, my project has aimed to host Valor College Prep’s first ever virtual blood drive in order to encourage blood donation.
