NAUW is an organization dedicated to the constructive work of education, public, civic affairs, and human relations. Over the years, our Windy City chapter has donated blood, providing aide to Chicago and surrounding areas. For the month of March, we are hosting a virtual blood drive and inviting you to become a blood donor.
With a focus on heath promotion, we are highlighting the important work of the American Red Cross and increasing blood donations.
Every 2 seconds, someone in the US needs blood and or platelets. Nearly 16 million blood components are transfused each year and saves the lives of accident or burn victims, those affected by cancer, or other chronic medical conditions such as sickle cell disease.
One donation can help save more than one life.
