Mike Herbert Memorial Blood Drive

11 /30

My dad was the most squeamish guy around–the mere thought of blood made him queasy. My mom, on the other hand, has been giving blood her entire life, and I think she got him to go with her once….once.

When my dad became so sick three years ago, they used over 30 units of blood and blood products to save him that weekend, but it still wasn’t enough. He was one guy, in one hospital in Seattle. Think of the need that is out there every single day! And every day I am grateful that we had it available to try and save my dad’s life. So to honor my dad, we are holding the 3rd annual Mike Herbert Memorial Blood Drive at the Pleasant Hill Red Cross on April 23rd, as well as setting up this virtual blood drive. If you can join us on the 23rd, that would be great, but if not, please consider participating in this virtual drive, either by donating at a site near you, or making a monetary donation. Thanks for considering it (you know what my dad would be doing…writing a check!)
