Melanin at Motive is hosting a blood drive to bring awareness to Sickle Cell Disease.
Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) is the most common blood disease in the U.S and is an inherited blood disorder that requires individuals to receive transfusions and blood exchanges on a regular basis throughout their lives.
Melanin at Motive will host a month-long blood drive during February – Black History month. It is important that this community be represented in order to have the necessary blood available. Melanin at Motive wants to be sure to maximize our reach of donors by having a virtual blood drive. This affords individuals to donate in their community at their convenience.
Today, there aren’t enough blood donors to meet this urgent need as well as other urgent needs.
By donating blood, you can make a difference in the life of a patient with sickle cell disease as well as moms with complicated childbirths, people fighting cancer, accident or trauma victims being raced to emergency rooms, and many more.
Please snap a photo before, during, or after you give blood and upload it to the Motive Slack Channel #BHM-2025. At the end of the month, we will select 2 employees to receive Melanin Swag!
Thanks for participating!
