Since high school, I’ve been volunteering at blood drives despite not meeting the weight requirement to actually donate blood. I was always so jealous that I could not help save lives.
Fast forward to two years ago, I found out once you turn 18, the weight requirement lowers. I was now able to donate!! I have now donated 6 times in the past 21 months, and plan to donate for the rest of my life. It is one of my favorite things to know I am potentially saving 3 lives in the simplest way.
For my birthday, I’m asking for anyone who is able to pledge to donate. Yes you can donate if you’ve traveled outside the US (depending on the country), recently got a tattoo or piercing, and have a COVID vaccine. It only takes about 30 minutes and it is the most rewarding feeling 😊
