Leslie’s Birthday Blood Drive

0 /25

As many of you know, my dad, Dr. Herbert Elliott (Dr. Dad to many of my Naz friends), a long time math professor at Nazareth College, was a hemophiliac. In the early 80s, he contracted HIV and Hepatitis C from bad blood. Since his death in 1993, giving blood has become a passion of mine. I was a member of the Board of Directors of the Mary Gooley Hemophilia Center for three years, the Interact Club that I advised at Palmyra-Macedon High School sponsored close to 15 blood drives, introducing many young people to this wonderful act of kindness, and I try to give a power red donation every 4 months.

I’m asking friends and family to consider donating in the next 30 days. There is a critical need for blood right now, especially Type O. I highly recommend the Perinton donation center near Aldi – the staff is great! There are also numerous locally sponsored blood drives going on all the time around the area. Each donation can save or sustain up to three lives! Well worth the brief discomfort of a needle prick.

Thanks so much 🩸♥️🩸
