At Rotary one of our main areas of focus is fighting disease; we strongly believe that everyone has the right to good healthcare which includes having blood available for those in need of it. While we do our parts sheltering in place during the present Coronavirus pandemic, blood for hospitals continues to be in short supply and will become even more so without continued donations.
Please come together in action with Leaders in Service Rotary and roll those sleeves up to serve your community! Your bleeding for a just short time can save up to 3 lives per donation.
You can help by pledging to make and keep an appointment to give blood! Be aware that appointment availability has decreased due to social distancing guidelines, and you may have to schedule your appointment a few weeks ahead. We highly encourage you to go ahead and book your appointment now!
According to the American Red Cross, “Donating blood products is essential to community health and the need for blood products is constant. As part of our nation’s critical infrastructure, healthy individuals can still donate in areas that have issued shelter in place declarations. The Red Cross follows the highest standards of safety and infection control, and volunteer donors are the only source of blood for those in need.” For more information on coronavirus and blood donation, visit https://www.redcrossblood.org/donate-blood/dlp/coronavirus–covid-19–and-blood-donation.html
