Hello Atlantis, BBD and MCA family and friends!
Our teams work throughout the year to help our swimmers achieve their goals. But this holiday season, we want to accomplish something even more meaningful. We’d like to have the parents and friends of our swimmers donate at least 100 pints of blood! In the spirit of our Last Train to Indy meet, this will be a competition. The team who generates the most donations will earn bragging rights. Results of the competition will be announced at the end of the meet on Sunday, January 8th.
The Red Cross has to collect 15,000 blood donations every day to have enough blood to help patients in 2,700 hospitals and transfusion centers across the country. That’s a lot of patients in need and all of us, coming together, can help ensure patients receive life saving blood.
So SleevesUp and help us reach our goal. Make and keep an appointment to give blood to the American Red Cross.
With just over a week to go until our Last Train to Indy meet, we’ve had 8 people pledge or donate blood.
That leaves us quite a bit to go to our goal of 25. However, considering that MCA and BBD have not taken up our challenge, not bad. There is such a great need for blood, especially this time of year.
Please consider donating and sharing your good health and fortune with others.
Thanks and Go Atlantis!!
There is a blood drive at Shrine Elementary School this coming Sunday December 18th where you can donate and keep the pledges growing in Atlantis’ favor. When you click on the pledge button, it will take you to a page where you can search for blood drives by location and date. Let’s keep up the momentum for good!
