On February 10th, 2015 I was shot 6 times in my driveway. I needed 14 units of blood, 4 operations and countless “Heroes” to keep me alive. On Valentine’s Day, I opened my eyes from a coma for the first time and began a challenging, but full, recovery. If not for first responders, surgeons, doctors & nurses and blood donors, I would be dead.
Last year, we held our first “Celebration of Heroes” Blood Drive and thanks to many of you, it was an enormous success!  Our campaign collected over 400 units of life-saving blood. This year, our goal is to DOUBLE the effort.  I invite you to celebrate Heroes; not only the ones who saved me.. but those who save lives every day and rarely get recognized. Let’s celebrate these heroes and be a hero by giving the gift of life!
I would love for you to join us at the Doubletree in Mission Valley on February 13th, but I understand you may live elsewhere. So, wherever you are, please take an hour to visit a donation center or blood drive and pledge your donation to our 2nd annual “Celebration of Heroes.” You can pledge to our drive now and donate anytime between now and February 29th.
