Kyle Humphries: “I didn’t realize how important blood was until I was in the position to need it. Since being diagnosed with cancer, I’ve needed more than 12 blood transfusions in less than a month. These transfusions replenish the red blood cells lost from my chemo treatment. During chemotherapy, every day is a struggle. Having a day where I feel almost back to normal from a blood transfusion makes a huge difference and really lifts my morale, giving me the energy to keep fighting. It’s essential for lots of people to donate to make sure people of all blood types can be helped and have access to the blood type they can accept. Blood expires, so we need to make sure we keep donations coming in!
