We know it’s important to give blood. Each blood donation can help save up to three lives.
At this moment, we have a daily reminder the critical importance of blood donations. Jewlia is showing us how important it is to get blood. A reminder that we can give back.
During a tight spot after Jewlia’s bone marrow transplant, Jewlia is using platelets every day and one bag of blood every other day. At the beginning of the month she didn’t need any but chemo related to her transplant creates a need for infusions. Knowing just how much blood Jewlia has needed and thinking about all of the others who need blood, I’d like to shoot for our community to give more than double what Jewlia used in a month. Let’s aim to provide 100 donations over the course of this year. To see if we can do this, I’ve set a prorated goal of getting commitments for & confirmation of 10 people giving blood during this first month. We can do this!
As the Red Cross says, “The need is constant. The gratification is instant.”
