More than 600 blood drives have already been canceled across the US due to concerns about COVID-19. That means that our current blood supply is dwindling without being replenished which puts everyone at greater risk should they experience an illness or sustain an injury that requires transfusion of blood products. If people donate now while most of the country is healthy, our nation’s blood banks will be in better shape to help treat patients when we hit the peak of coronavirus infections.
