In Honor of Chris Siegl

Make a difference by giving blood in honor of our dear friend and IEEE Senior Member Chris Siegl on IEEE Day!

Chris was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis 3 years ago and received a lung transplant on August 19 and is doing very well. We would like to honor his long-term service to our community and to the IEEE, STEM Education, New Hope Valley Railway, & Boy Scouts by holding a blood drive in his name.

Chris’ infectious love of engineering has inspired many. “For me, engineering is fun and I want to find like-minded individuals to further the quality of being an engineer and motivating others to similarly enjoy our occupation,” says Chris.

Chris has a long recovery ahead but he is very upbeat and anxious to get back to serving the community which he loves. Help us replace the blood used to help our friend.

Blood is needed for many different kinds of patients. It could be a young child with a rare blood disorder, a family member fighting cancer, or a friend involved in a car accident. Please schedule an appointment to donate at this special blood drive. You’ll feel good knowing you’ve helped change the lives of patients in need.

You may sign up to donate at any American Red Cross donation center or at The American Red Cross, 4737 University Dr., Durham, NC 27707 from October 5,2021 from 8am-6:00pm
