Greetings! I’m Sky Shaw, otherwise known as “Sky-Man,” and I lead the American Red Cross blood donation team called “Friends of the Sky-Man.” As we approach Memorial Day, we invite you to be part of our heartfelt “Sleeves Up” campaign—a virtual blood drive dedicated to honoring the brave servicemembers who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation.
Why Memorial Day Matters:
Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, has a rich history dating back to the aftermath of the Civil War. It’s a day to pay tribute to those who lost their lives while serving in the U.S. military. Their unwavering valor and sacrifices deserve our deepest respect. As we remember them, we also recognize the challenges faced by veterans returning to civilian life. Memorial Day serves as a call to action, urging us to support those who bear the heavy burdens of service and sacrifice.
Our Mission:
Our mission is clear: to provide mutual encouragement and support through blood donation. Each blood donation holds the power to bring hope, healing, and renewed life to someone in need. Together, we rally, lift each other up, and inspire those around us. So far my team and I have helped over 500 people in need of life-saving blood.
How You Can Make a Difference:
