Why Donate Blood?

In July 2022, just two months before her dream wedding Abby, at 28-years-old, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Leukemia called “ALL” Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Abby has been an absolute warrior during her battle, with no complaints and reached remission in August of 2022. She continued to fight hard each day with chemotherapy, bone marrow biopsies, and a bone marrow transplant on her 29th birthday at the end of December 2022. In May 2023 Abby was told she had relapsed, a word that she and her husband never wanted to hear. She spent most of the month of May hospitalized going through treatments, starting new chemotherapy and receiving countless blood transfusions.

Because of all this Abby wants to spread the word that making the lifesaving choice to donate blood is a very important step to supporting those with cancer like her or facing a life-threatening situation. Her hope and special request is, that all will make the choice to donate blood or encourage others to donate and help save a life.
