One blood donation can help save up to three lives. I have worked for the American Red Cross for more than 13 years & I have said those 10 words many times. That means a lot to patients in need, but it took on a new meaning recently.  In February I went in to the hospital for an outpatient procedure & returned home 5 hours later.  Unfortunately, things went south real quick.  Long story short, I was taken back to the hospital when paramedics could not find a blood pressure because I was bleeding internally.  I have little recollection of the next 4 days.  I was taken back into surgery at about 2:00 a.m.& given 5 pints of blood over the next few days.

Without volunteer blood donors, my story might have had a different ending. Help me reach my goal and ensure that patients receive the life saving blood they need. Make and keep an appointment to give blood to the American Red Cross. And Thank You in advance!
