This year for my birthday I’m not asking you to spend money only to give some of your time and save a life or three!!! One blood donation can help save up to three lives. That means a lot to patients in need, but it took on a whole new meaning to me in February 2012. Without donor blood I would have died on the operating room table. I am O negative which is universal for everyone but I can only receive that type. The hospital did not have enough and I received what they had on hand. I had a pretty serious reaction but without any blood at all I wouldn’t be here today.
Without volunteer blood donors, my story would have had a different ending. Help me reach my goal and ensure that patients receive the life saving blood they need. Make and keep an appointment to give blood to the American Red Cross.
