Greg’s Birthday Blood Drive

1 /50

In the past for my birthday I’ve asked people to donate money to causes I care about. This year, I’m doing something different. Asking for you to donate blood.

I got into donating blood in high school, but over the years fell away from it. Last year though, I started donating blood again, as often as they let me. It’s a simple way to do good, there is always need for blood and with a 30 minute to an hour appointment you can provide someone with the life saving blood they need. In times like these, we need to set aside our differences, come together, support one another, and build a better world. What better way to come together than sharing our own blood with others?

For an inspiring story of what a difference you can make by giving blood, I’d like to share the story of the man with the golden arm, who passed away recently. https://www.npr.org/2025/03/03/nx-s1-5316163/james-harrison-blood-donor

We might not all have as special of blood as James Harrison, but we can be motivated by his dedication and tenacity, and continue his legacy by giving blood to help people. Godspeed, James.

Bonus points to people who take on the endeavor to donate regularly!
