Modern advances in medicine and the skills of medical practitioners were advanced by the efforts of Dr. Charles R. Drew, an American Red Cross physician and member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated who was a pioneer in the field of Blood Banking. In honor of Dr. Drew’s ground-breaking and life-saving work, the Brothers of Gamma Nu Nu Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and the American Red Cross have partnered to help save lives through the gift of blood donation during the Dr. Charles R. Drew Memorial Virtual Blood Drive.

The goal of the Dr. Charles R. Drew Memorial Blood Drive is to raise awareness of the importance of blood donation. Each unit can help save a life. We want to focus on the specific needs to increase the number of American donors for Sickle Cell patients, especially children. Our goal is to have a large blood drive turn out; however, we need your participation! We can only do this by educating our relatives, friends, and Fraternity Brothers of the purposes of donating blood, eradicating the fear of giving and reinforcing the concept that blood donors are essential to the health and safety of many hospital patients.
