This campaign is more than a blood drive. It’s our way to keep mom’s strength and love alive.
When mom was in the hospital, she needed countless transfusions of blood and platelets. It was donations given by strangers that gave us more precious time with her. Time to talk, laugh, pray, and hold her hand a little longer. She was a fighter. Even after chemo, she would lace up her shoes and walk three miles, just to keep moving forward. We called her Janice the Mechanic, because it seemed that she could fix anything. Now, we have a chance to fix something too. By giving blood, we can help fix the critical blood shortage
For her birthday this year, October 11, we are honoring her by giving life to others. Every pint of blood can save up to three lives. Every donation is a gift of time, time for more conversations, more hugs, more memories.
