We work together every day to make a difference in people’s lives. This holiday season, we want to have an even greater impact. The Red Cross has to collect 15,000 blood donations every day to have enough blood to help patients in 2,700 hospitals and transfusion centers across the country. That’s a lot of patients in need and all of us, coming together, can help ensure those in need receive lifesaving blood.
As part of our nation’s critical infrastructure, healthy individuals can donate in areas that have issued shelter in place declarations or are operating under a phased reopening plan. The Red Cross follows the highest standards of safety and infection control, and volunteer donors are the only source of blood for those in need.
