To know our mom Joan Pushard is to love her. She and our dad have been in love for 51 years and counting. She’s our rock and we need her to stay right here with us. Her family is the center of her life. She’s the most generous, selfless and loving mother and grandmother you could ever hope to help.
To say that we are confounded and devastated by our Mom’s diagnosis is an understatement. Our hearts are shattered and the tears are endless.
Myelofibrosis is a rare blood cancer which causes extensive scarring in your bone marrow, leading to severe anemia that can cause weakness and fatigue. Bone marrow scarring can also cause you to have a low number of blood-clotting cells called platelets, which increases the risk of bleeding. You can read more about it here https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/myelofibrosis/symptoms-causes/syc-20355057
She will need a blood transfusion every 4 days to stay here with us, until a bone marrow donor match is found. Please reach out to your family, your friends, your neighbors, co-workers and community to sign up today to donate blood at your closest red cross blood drive to support our fight. And please pray for constant availability of type A+ or O+ blood and a donor match for a transplant in the next 4-6 weeks. Time is of the essence.
We thank you in advance for your donation, love and support.
