COVID-19 has had a profound impact on communities nationwide. Thousands of blood drives have been cancelled since March 2020 and behind that number are real people in need of lifesaving care.
Demant Care Community, an employee resource group at Demant, embraces any assistance we can offer that prevents vulnerable patients from being at risk of insufficient blood supplies to treat unexpected trauma, chronic illness like sickle cell disease, and diseases like cancer.
We can be the change! We encourage our eligible employees and communities to donate blood during our Sleeves Up Campaign.
Our goal is to donate 100 units by July 30, 2022. Appointments scheduled through this campaign will apply to our goal. We also encourage you to promote the event and recruit blood donors from your network to join in this vital community service.
Facts About Blood Donation:
– 1 donation can save up to 3 lives.
– A single car accident victim can need up to 100 units of blood.
– Someone in the United States needs a blood donation every 2 seconds.
