The Red Cross needs our help. The demand for life-saving blood is outpacing the supply. That’s where you come in. 1 pint of blood can save up to 3 lives.
“You can still go out and give blood,” says the U.S. Surgeon General Jerome Adams. “We’re worried about potential blood shortages in the future. Social distancing does not have to mean social disengagement.”
As a service to donors, the Red Cross is also testing all blood, platelet and plasma donations for COVID-19 antibodies. You will be notified if your donation tests positive for the antibodies.
Nervous? You’ll see why your life-giving donation is worth a few minutes of discomfort if you watch these first-time donors getting a surprise visit in this touching video from the American Red Cross: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=2646135812370862.
