Church of the Brethren Virtual Blood Drive

2 /25

Attendees at the Church of the Brethren Annual Conference have the opportunity to represent the church when they give blood at the annual blood drive. Those of us not attending the Annual Conference can participate as part of that effort by donating blood in our home places through the Church of the Brethren VIRTUAL Blood Drive!

To find the blood drive nearest you, go to redcrossblood.org and add your zip code to the “Find a blood drive” box. Sign up here to pledge to give blood and then let us know when donate (we won’t know unless you tell us!). We would be happy if you take a photo of yourself giving blood so you can encourage others to give in the name of the church. Upload your photo on Twitter at #SleevesUpBrethren and send a copy to [email protected].

Why give blood? Only 3 out of 100 people in the U.S. donate blood, yet every two seconds someone needs it. The Red Cross has to collect 15,000 blood donations every day to have enough blood to help patients in 2,700 hospitals and transfusion centers across the country. And during a holiday period (such as Independence Day) the need is even greater. That’s a lot of patients in need and all of us, coming together, can help ensure that they receive life-saving blood.

So SleevesUp and help us reach our Church of the Brethren Virtual Blood Drive goal. Make and keep an appointment to give blood to the American Red Cross.
