World Blood Donor day is celebrated every year by people around the world on June 14. It is celebrated on the birthday anniversary of Karl Landsteiner on June 14, 1868. Landsteiner was awarded the Nobel Prize for his discovery of the ABO blood group system.
Did you know that 1 pint of blood can save up to 3 lives? What a great return on investment! Blood donation is a simple act with a profound impact. Whether it’s a child fighting leukemia, a victim of a car accident, someone with sickle cell disease, or so many other life-threatening challenges, blood donations can mean the difference between life and death.
