Blood is the most precious gift that anyone can give to another person — the gift of life.
One blood donation can save up to three lives and only takes a little more than an hour of your time.
What is donated blood used for?
Red blood cells: to treat patients who lost blood due to trauma or those who are recovering from surgery.
Platelets: utilized in transfusions for cancer patients, transplants, and treatments of clotting disorders. Platelets also help patients survive major surgeries or serious injuries.
Plasma: Decreases the risk of bleeding by helping with blood clotting. Plasma also contains antibodies that can be used for various treatments.
Heroes come in all types. You can make a difference, giving blood saves lives
