As Mrs. Treasure Valley, I have had the pleasure of serving our Idaho communities. While attending a community service event I met a local 12-year-old Treasure Valley Boy, named Ethan, battling Leukemia. During one of his recent hospital visits, I learned his family was left praying for blood to arrive in time to save his life via transfusion, as the hospital did not have blood onsite. Luckily, blood did arrive in time that day to save Ethan’s life.
Being a parent, I couldn’t imagine the helpless feeling. No child should experience that, no parent, no human! Thus, the idea to sponsor a blood drive emerged, to provide an opportunity to all to be the positive change they wish to see in the world.
The local Blood Drive is already full, but anyone can pledge to donate via the virtual campaign.
This virtual event allows Donors across the country to donate blood, at an American Red Cross nearest them on a day/time that is convenient for their schedule.
