We work together every day to do important work. But today, we want to accomplish something even more meaningful. The Red Cross has to collect 15,000 blood donations every day to have enough blood to help patients in 2,700 hospitals and transfusion centers across the country. That’s a lot of patients in need and all of us, coming together, can help ensure patients receive life saving blood.
Every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood. Each of us knows at least one relative, friend, colleague or acquaintance who has benefited from a blood transfusion. On top of that, we hear about blood shortages in the news and we tell ourselves, “I should help!” Well, now is the time to make a commitment to roll up your sleeves, or make a simple monetary donation.

As a million-dollar partner with the Anthem Foundation, the Red Cross has been providing humanitarian aid for over 135 years—with 75 years of supplying blood to those in need.
