One blood donation can help save up to three lives. That means a lot to patients in need, but it took on a new meaning 4 years ago.
My son was born at 35 weeks. At the last minute the doctors realized he was breech and I was rushed to emergency c section. Due to epidural failing I couldn’t be awake during the procedure and was put to sleep. My son was born at 2:34pm on September 24th 2014. On September 26th they realized exactly how much blood I’d lost during the emergency surgery to give my son life and now my life was a stake. I was given several units of blood that helped save my life that day.
Without volunteer blood donors, our story might have had a very different ending. My children would have no mother. My son would’ve never spent more than 24 hours with me. Please help me reach my goal and ensure that patients like me are able to receive the life saving blood they need. Make and keep an appointment to give blood to the American Red Cross.
