Our precious family member, Astrid was just diagnosed with Leukemia. She is only 19 months old. Every one of us was completely devastated by this tragedy, but we wanted to turn that despair and feeling of helplessness into a sense of hope – not only for ourselves, but for others. Astrid had to have 3 blood transfusions in one week, which resulted in needing 9 pints of blood. We know there are many more children facing similar obstacles, all in dire need of blood as well.
