AML’s Save-a-Life Campaign

0 /40

We work together every day to do important work. But today, we want to accomplish something even more meaningful. The Red Cross has to collect 15,000 blood donations every day to have enough blood to help patients in 2,700 hospitals and transfusion centers across the country. That’s a lot of patients in need and all of us, coming together, can help ensure patients receive life saving blood.

We spoke with Georgia Wenslow, a fellow AML colleague who is here today because of the donations of others. She said “Who imagines ever needing to receive blood? Hospitals need blood on hand daily to save lives. I am one of those people whose life was saved. I did not wake up that morning in 2019 thinking I was going to get hit by a car, but it happened. While in a coma, the doctors did what they had to do to save me, which included blood transfusions, surgeries and more. I am so grateful people took the time to give. Just the small act of kindness by a stranger saved me.”

Her story is one of the many reasons that our team decided to host this blood drive. So SleevesUp and help us reach our goal. Make and keep an appointment to give blood to the American Red Cross.
