We are encourage appointments to help expedite your donation process and maintain proper social distancing. Currently, we are in Urgent Need for all blood types, so please ask a friend to join you. Starting June 15, for a limited time only, the American Red Cross is testing blood donations for COVID-19 antibodies as an additional service to our valued donors. The antibody test will provide insight to potential past exposure to this coronavirus as some COVID-19 carriers can be asymptomatic. Please note the Red Cross is not testing donors to diagnose current or suspect illness.
The need for blood is constant and only volunteer donors can fulfill that need for patients in our community. Nationwide, someone needs a unit of blood every 2 to 3 seconds and most of us will need blood in our lifetime.
