Accreta Awareness Month

Accreta Awareness Month
13 /100

Placenta accreta puts a mother at risk of severe blood loss and other complications. 90% of placenta accreta mothers require a blood transfusion and 40% need more than 10 units of donor blood. The incidence of placenta accreta pregnancies is rising so it’s important that blood banks are stocked in case an accreta mom is in need.

Join National Accreta Foundation in celebrating Accreta Awareness Month during the month of October. We ask you to pledge to give blood or host a blood drive during the month to help ensure the next accreta mom has access to the blood products that may be needed for her care. So SleevesUp and help us reach our goal of 100 pledges in the month of October!

Contact the American Red Cross or your local blood bank and make an appointment to give blood. Learn more about how you can support blood donation for accreta moms at www.preventaccreta.org/blood-donation
