I am a huge advocate of doing something good rather than giving something up for lent. As a nursing student, I am aware of how serious blood shortages can be and how huge of an impact this can have on patient’s lives. In fact, every 2 seconds someone in the U.S. is in need of blood. Thus, for lent this year, I decided to help others by giving up blood! I will be donating blood once a week until Easter and brining a new buddy with me each week.

However, I knew I could take this vow a step further by getting other people involved. I am seeking help from my friends and family to do good this Easter season and save lives by donating blood! One blood donation saves up to three lives. My goal is to get at least 34 donations throughout these next few weeks to save ONE HUNDRED LIVES by Easter!
