It all started last year when my good friend Bethany convinced me to go donate blood with her. Something that used to make me very nervous soon became an “obsession” for lack of a better term. That’s why I’m donating my birthday to the American Red Cross this year!

Starting today, I’m hosting a SleevesUp virtual blood drive and asking friends and family to pledge to give blood! Together, we’ll track our pledges, cheer each other on, and most importantly, provide lifesaving gifts to patients in need.

So, first things first. Make your pledge by clicking the red button above, and then visit redcrossblood.org to schedule your donation appointment. You can give at a locally hosted blood drive or at a permanent Red Cross blood donation center. Boom! You’re now a member of the Reverse Vampire Club! Yay!

You’ll be able to find out what your blood type is, which i think is pretty cool. American Red Cross will even track your donation and let you know where in the world it ends up going! My donation this past January went all the way to New York!
