With blood drives at jobs becoming less frequent due to work from home practices, it is important that we decentralize accountability around donating blood and start to enter the social atmosphere with action. Exelon Corporation is asking all eligible and healthy donors to join us and save lives in the community through your blood donation. We are also asking you to join us in the fight against Sickle Cell Disease.

About 100,000 people in the U.S. have sickle cell disease, with the majority being of African descent.
The inherited disease causes red blood cells to be rigid and sickle shaped instead of soft and round. As a result, blood has difficulty flowing smoothly and carrying oxygen to the rest of the body. This can cause severe pain, organ damage and even stroke.

Every 2 seconds, someone in the U.S. is in need of blood. Many of them are Sickle Cell patients, but many are also cancer patients, trauma patients, newborn babies, patients with chronic illnesses and patients in need of surgery or organ transplants.

In addition, The American Red Cross is in need of more African-American and Latino blood donors to help ensure the best transfusion results for sickle cell patients.

PLEASE JOIN US AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE BY SUPPORTING THE COMMUNITY AND SAVING LIVES THROUGH YOUR BLOOD DONATION.
